Engelberg is the largest winter holiday destination in central Switzerland. The village is located 25 km south of Lucerne in a wide mountain valley at an altitude of around 1'000 meters. The two sides of the valley could not be more different and they provide pure enjoyment to all, athleths and those who like it slower. At 3'239 meters, Titlis mountain with its glacier, as well as Hahnen mountain at 2'600 meters, are towering over the surrounding peaks. In the winter they make sure that there will be snow far into the spring season.

The attractive village of Engelberg with the famous monastery offers a wide vaiety of activities. Titlis mountain is an attracting ski region for enthusiasts from all over the world, especially for free-riders. The Titlis cable cars take you from Engelberg up to 3'020 meters in about 30 minutes. The higlight is without question the ride with the Titlis Rotair - the first revoling cable car in the world which gives the perfect perspective and a fantastic panorama!
35 km of cross-country ski trails are meandering through the lovely Engelberg aera and about 70 km of well-prepared winter hiking trails lead through snow-covered forests and landscapes. Enjoy the miracolous mountain panorama.

Monastery of Engelberg
The Benedictine monastery was founded in 1120 and has a great impact on the life of the villiage, even today. Monks still live, work and teach there. The homes left over from the Belle Epoque are also witnesses of that time period. More information to the famous monastery can be found here.
